OX66 150 Overheat with Tell Tale Streaming

Got an overheat alarm on my OX66 150 VMax today while idling to take off from ramp. Has a new water pump and new water pressure gauge. Tell tale is peeing, but no water pressure on gauge. Could there be trash in the cooling system around the heads?

Did the O-ring fall out of the pump when it was being put back together? Did someone mess with the water pickup screens on lower unit? They can be installed backwards. Can be alot of things.

Mine was doing the same thing when I got it. The bottom o-ring was lunched when I took it apart.

Clean poppet valve/ PRV pressure relief valve.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Ended up being a missing grommet between the pump and the water tube in the housing allowing too much water to escape out of the lower unit. Fixed up and full pressure now!
