A few screen shots from my Lake Fork trip this weekend.
Bridge just north of the current 515 bridge. Second pic is same bridge, different angle.
Roadbed in the same area.
I did weigh 21.5# in our club tournament today. Not all that noteworthy for Lake Fork, but still a lot of fun.

I have the HDS-7 & boat is at shop now getting LSS-1 mounted and other things relocated.
So which screen do you find yourself watching the most??
The one I have pictured above is on the HDS-10 90% of the time. The other 10% is full chart for when I am on plane running the lake. I also have a LMS 520C in the dash for 2d sonar with time and water temp overlay.

No doubt about it, the screen I watch the most is the quad screen (not an option on the HDS-7 or 5).
ciao,
Marc
Found this boat using StructureScan and it showed a few fish in and around the boat. My friend and I each caught bass on our first cast.

ok here is a question,
say the picture Wright just put up of that boat. The left pic shows it more distant than the right picture. So is he over top of the boat?? Way I understood is your boat that your in is the solid white blurred out line, then the vision to either side would show structure & objects. So if the boat is on the right side, how is the left picking it up?? Does this make sense what I am saying? I would think it would only show on 1 side than both sides pending what side the object the boat is on.
Since I have an hds-7, seem I should watch mainly the downscan than anything else.

If you use only the downscan you will miss most objects you are looking for because you are covering a small portion of the bottom. When I see an object with the structurescan I will also switch to the downscan, if the object is not too far left or right of center. I do this to get another view on a single pass. The HDS 8 (which I have) and HDS 10 will allow you to do this rapidly because of the soft keys. The HDS 7 & 5 requires you to go back to the menu to accomplish the same function.
In the image in question I almost centered the boat, which meant the left and right crystals each saw a portion of the boat. The entire boat was captured by the downscan crystal.
ok so basically you were directly over it but more than half was on 1 side than the other. I was thinking it was all on 1 side and the opposite side was picking it up as well when it shouldn't be since its scanning say 6 o'clock out to 9 o'clock.
Heres a couple screen shots I took from my HDS 5 today. Having to use it since my HDS7 is sent in for repair.

back in the begining pages, you guys where talking about the overlay options. Can you explain what they are and do. Thanks.
You can overlay your sonar image with the down scan image. If I remember Lowrance recommends having the two transducers within a foot of each other so they are seeing the same object. The only advantage I can see with this feature is to help fine tune your sonar.
