    Lowrance HDS Gen 2 - Doesn't read correct water depth.

    Lowrance HDS Gen 2 - Doesn't read correct water depth? Sometimes it's correct, sometimes it's way off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Ranger Boat with In hull Transducer.

    How old is the transducer? If more than 10 yrs then time for a new one. This is how it goes first its sporatic then one day it stops working all together then you can put in a new one.

    Like Basshopper said, if the transducer is of the same age as your unit, it is time to replace it.
