I don’t have the auto leveling headlights. The needed one inch less sag comes from the 4”+ sag from the trailer tongue weight. I trusted the salesman when he told me the Platinum trim had everything I needed to pull my Ranger. There are three Toyota options that either of them would solve my problem, either the AVS (air suspension), auto headlight leveling or the TRD Off-road package (stiffer suspension). I didn’t spend enough time researching the Tundra trims and packages. The truck drives as smooth as butter and borders on being too soft of a ride.

Looks like Mother Toyota is going to screw the 4Runner up. 4 cylinder turbo. RIP 4Runner.
Not mother Toyota,,, It's Father E.P.A. and their corporate average fuel economy mandates, C.A.F.E.

Why not just swap the rear springs and shocks for some of the TRD Off-road ones?

The new ‘24 Tundras no longer have leaf springs.

I understand that but my Ram doesn’t either and it’s pretty common to swap the non off-road Ram springs with an off-road Ram spring.

Air bags. They are easy to install and total cost was about $1000 for bags and onboard inflator to control pressure. Took about 2 hours from start to finish. 10-12psi is all I need in my 2023 TRD pro and deflate when not towing.

I’ll either go bags or Timbren, probably bags. I had an on board air compressor on my last three F250’s. It sure came in handy on the rare occasion I needed it. This is the system I had, no complaints at all and never failed in 10 plus years, just kinda expensive. I had a 4 gallon air tank with this system. Thinking about getting the smaller portable system this time.

Sounds like someone has limited towing experience.

From what i could find, manual leveling headlamps are standard on all Tundras, auto leveling is standard on Platinum. If you don’t have auto leveling, you should have a dial to adjust them.

lots of positive chatter about this set up on the tundra forums, no real world first hand experience but looking at possibly adding it this summer
