Detroit River Place to Stay

Headed to the the Detroit River in a couple weeks. Was looking to launch at Elizabeth Park. Any suggestion for place to stay that is safe and boat friendly? Thanks in advance!

I can't think of any off hand. You really have to be careful where you choose to go. Elizabeth is a good place to launch. Safe.

A lot of guys choose to stay along west road in Woodhaven. I can't recommend anything, but start there and do your due diligence ie, read reviews. Personally I would look for a vrbo, airbnb in Rockwood or Brownstown and utilize Erie Metropark instead of Elizabeth. They aren't far apart and there's nothing wrong with Elizabeth as far as launching goes, but there are some sketchy areas not far from there.

Some guys I know who fish the DR stay at Monroe, the 15 exit off I-75. Coincidentally, that’s about 15 miles south of Elizabeth Park, but that’s not a bad drive. Right off the highway, and traffic is very light first thing in the morning.
