How to Separate Old Aerator Pump from Flow Rite Valve

My old Rule aerator pump was attached to the Flow Rite V# livewell valve (3/4" NPT) with some kind of white sealant (adhesive)? I've put a fair bit of torque on them trying to separate them, to no avail. I don't know whether the white material is just sealant or a sealant+adhesive (e.g. 3M 4200 or 5200). I'm about ready to just force it, but before I do - any tips for getting these two apart?

    Thanks!

Should just be sealant. Seems like I had one that was a little stubborn as well.

Thanks for the encouragement - I got it loose. It was just really tight. At the time it broke loose I thought it was 50-50 whether the joint or the pump housing had given way.
