    I’m 46 and never played a hybrid

Like the title says - never played a hybrid, I’ve wondered if been missing out, but I can’t get over how they look.

So, I was looking at Ben Hogan golf, and I decided to demo their UI- Hi. So on Saturday I took it to the course. It worked out perfect; I was playing by myself and I was stuck behind a men’s group. So I had a 4.5 hour round to put it through its paces, compare it to my 3 and 4 iron.

It was pretty awesome. They sent me 4 iron, but it’s about the same specs as my current 3 iron. But it jumps off the club, goes high, and has an incredible feel. I think I’ll be ordering the 3 and 4 to replace my 5 wood and my 3 iron.

I was in same boat as you. Bought a TSR2 5 hybrid a few months ago and absolutely love it.

I should probably demo a hybrid also. Just so I can compare.

    I have 2.
Both Callaway Big Berta OS in a 4 and a 5.
I can hit the 4 about as far as I do my driver and get way less slices.
Use mine a lot this past weekend.

Only reason I carry a 3 iron is for those times I put it into the woods and need to hit something low. Noticed last weekend’s PGA tourney platers we’re hitting them more than low irons.

I like my 4H (albeit just a cheap Spaulding club set). Last round I hit a ball with the hybrid and it was a thing of beauty. I was hitting uphill about 200yds away from the flag. I suck at my 3wood so it’s the farthest club I have if I get a clean hit.

I was so proud of the shot… until I got to the top of the hill then realized it made a 45deg turn and I put my ball 100yds past the fairway into a field.

They are probably the best innovation to the sport in the last 25yrs or so.
