Finally bit the bullet last September and upgraded my old motorguide. Well with only about 30 hrs on the thing the servo motor failed in the head unit so no ability to steer. So back to the factory right at prime fishing time for repair. Anyone else experienced a Garmin failure? Customer support said this kinda failure was pretty rare.

I have not seen one fail in that manner. Sucks for sure but they should get it taken care of quickly. Might ask about an advanced replacement option.

They had me a replacement in two days. Though it sucked to have to replace it their customer service was very responsive and even better they were easy to get to talk with someone very knowledgeable.
