    Swimbait Reel?

Was wondering what everyone’s favorite swimbait reel is?

I was looking at the Shimano Curado 300K, or the Daiwa Tatula 300HS.

    Any other recommendations?

Revo Beast 40HS. Brass gears and with a solid feel, without feeling like an anchor in your hand.

Shimano Tranx would be another good one.

Calcutta conquests are great but Tranx and Daiwa Prorex are both solid!

Depends on the weight and type of swimbaits you plan on using.

Baits will be ranging from 3/4 - 3oz.

6” Magdraft and 5” Burrito mainly.

I have never thrown a large swim bait. Have thought about trying it using a Diawa Tatula TW 200 HSL. If I found liking it I’d probably get the Tatula 300.

I throw the 6" magdraft on a regular ol revo stx. They're not all that heavy and with a steady retrieve they're not hard on gears.

The 8" or 10" magdraft and 7-10" glides, and a rigs I use the revo beast like mentioned above.

I think that the line and the rod are more important than the reel. Almost any decent reel will work.

I got a Diawa lexa 300 last year with the power knob for swimbaits. It absolutely changed the game for me.

Never needed a 300. Curado 200/201 has been fine.

I just received th Diawa Tatula 300 in the mail and got it rigged up for tomorrow morning. I’ll try to post my thoughts for ya tomorrow evening. As of right now I’m thinking it’s probably perfect for the job with the big handle it’s got on it.
