    So Was Livesay Talking Big

If you missed Lee Livesay and that squirrly Bryan New on the Elite Live Mix today you missed out. Anyway, Livesay predicted giant bags and the top weight being well over 100lbs on Fork. So is he right, are some of the guys really going crush them this week?

Why would they not eclipse the century mark? They just did it at Toledo Bend and I would assume there will be more next weekend.

What are % of the winner breaking 115 and best bag going 40? Lee said it was possible.

Do they get to weigh in the slots? I have no clue but it doesn’t seem they could.

It should be a slugfest but I don't see either of those happening but I believe Livesay knows far better than I do. I hope both things happen but probably im not sure. I think 105ish to win and big bag at 35lbs. I do see more at least two or more hitting the century mark.

They use the catch, weigh and release format in this one.

Makes sense then. Likely another century bag(s) then.

If they were coming back to Clear Lake in Northern California this year we would see those kinds of numbers! It has taken 30-33lbs to win most of the tournaments here since New Years!

They have to do it that way for the slot and also because you can only have one over 24" in possession per angler. The state never gives exemptions on Fork. I can't recall them ever giving an exemption on any lake though.

My prediction is 5 anglers will surpass 100 pounds. I was out from 11-6 today and they were chomping. Spawn has started so I expect shallow, intermediate, and deep bites to be on.

You think a guy could weigh in 30lbs plus each day over 4 days? Thats a big weight. Got to have a lot of big fish found. As quickly as things change and tbdy move this time of year it's tough to do over 4 days. Much better odds in doing it in a 1 or 2 day event. 4 days is tough.

People underestimate the level of fishery, and quality of fish required, needed to break top weights for four days. Every day the bite changes, with or without FFS. Fishing pressure eventually effects them and the weights suffer. Lake Fork is an amazing fishery and if it’s back where everyone thinks, we will soon know. Putting up 30 pounds for one day is a lot different and this gets harder every day. Just because Seminole, Guntersville, Rayburn and more can do it once doesn’t mean they do it four days in a row.

This is going to be an exciting season to follow.

They are going to absolutely hammer 8 lb slot fish on FFS just like they did this week. Lake will set up for fish to be in almost the same locations, relative to spawn, as they were at Toledo. Only hope the fish have is that the pros haven't had as much time to prep and get info.
