I need transducer location mounting help

I’m about to mount a GT54 transducer to my rt188. I thought I would be able to mount it in the spot with the green dot, but that forces the transducer to be way too low. The top of it would be even with the bottom of the hull.
The red dot location would be good to go, but I’m not sure if that is too close to the outboard to cause any problems.

Can someone please help me out here before I go in and do this? Thanks!
