Do it. I run a 6" hydro on my Classic XL. highly useful for various purposes and makes the rig so much more versatile across the different types of waters you may encounter on any particular day, or hour at that. Also really useful in getting you cleaner water back to the outboard prop itself which translates to better performance out of the outboard as a whole. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to you.

If you go hydro, go with a reliable unit, I recommend Bob's Machine Shop micro series jack plates or a Vance Mfg. HYDVS-001 plate (this is the one I run).

Both solid choices and very similar in performance. Really fast in movement too might I add!

If you don't care about voiding your warranty (if applicable) then by all means do it. I don't run one because I care about my warranty and my boat handles good enough for my needs.
2023 Xpress H18 with 115 SHO that's optioned to fit my wants and pulled by a little Ram.

    Jack plate doesn't void warranty.

Apparently Tracker changed it. They use to specifically state in the warranty that jack plates and power poles voided the warranty, couldn't find any reference to it in the latest one (2021) however

It makes sense that they don't void it now, because honestly, they both provide awesome functions on a boat that you otherwise don't have if you are sticking to warranty rules.

I wonder if my 2016 would be voided since the new models seem to be identical minus the layout. If I can get away with using one now and keep the warranty I bet I know of a 75hp that's gonna be getting yanked pretty soon.

You'll never regret it HC......can't imagine not having an hydraulic plate.

At this point I refuse to own a boat without one. They make the overall ride so much better all around and give the boat so much more function it is otherwise not capable of.

I had a plate on my glitter boats but know Tracker can be weird when it comes to the fine print. If my 2016 hull is clear to run a plate the only real concern I have is it already sits high up front without one. That said, I'm around 250 and probably have way more weight up front in tackle and trolling motor than most with this hull. How it can still hit 40mph more than half the times I decide to air it out is beyond me. Usually cruise 25-30mph.

I've had a Manual Vance on my 175 since 2012. No issues. Hydraulic would be nice though.

Ran a 6” manual jack plate on mine from 2012 to 2019 when i sold it never had an issue with it. Handling and performance were improved quite a bit it was worth it. I gained 3 mph then another 2mph having the prop worked which pushed me to the speeds i was getting when everything was in its prime. I wasnt stupid with it so i never had any hull issues. I have a 6” atlas on this boat i wouldnt own a boat without a jack plate on it
