My buddy had a Pinto. He ended working for his neighbor who ran a body shop. I think he painted that Pinto about once a month for a while. He just retired recently from owning a body shop and rock crawler business.

And about all those things could be fixed with a couple of hand tools and any kind of mechanical ability. I had a 79, F-100, 3 speed, that I bought new, that came with vent windows(wings), but no radio or rear bumper. If I remember correctly, I paid $4240.00 and that was half of what my first teaching job paid for the year. I'm old.

Mine had the 250 straight six. Good socket set, screwdrivers, gap gauge, and a ball peen hammer and you could fix just about anything.

Vacuum wipers - had to let off the gas to get windshield cleared.

That reminds me of my old 72 VW Bug. Windshield washer pump was hooked to the spare tire. About once a month I had to check the tire pressure.

I hear this all the time. I don't know what was so good about them except was younger and healthier. No air conditioning (car or home), no dish washer, no clothes dryer, black and white TV with fizzy picture on three channels. I rather enjoy today's amenities.

I did learn to drive in a '55 Ford Station with three on the tree and don't miss the old cars at all.

My first truck is my 1967 Ford f100 that had the 3 on the tree. The column broke so I put a c6 with a floor shifter in it.

Had one too, bought mine in 1980. Mine was the 302 with the C4 auto. Black truck with no AC. What was I thinking. I did get a sliding rear window put in. For a single cab truck that was the best thing since sliced butter. Better make sure your bed stays clean or else the dirt, leaves, whatever, would end up in your cab. Don't know how we managed with a single cab truck all those years.

If you forget where your keys are, you are ok. If you forget what keys are for, then start worrying.
