    Bobs (but i'm biased!) LOL

We have 1 piece side rails, not bolt on spacers like other guys. Tons of rigid cross bars, so less deflection, which means the jack plate doesn't sway and gives better steering response. We use a cold rolled slide plate, VS competitions extruded plate, meaning the plate that your motor mounts too is more rigid, so it doesn't flex under holeshot and translates to better holeshot. Bobs also offer custom powder coating and hydrographics so can be customized to match your boat if you want.

The major deciding factors should be:

    Strength
    Weight
    total vertical travel
    Travel speed
Total number of increments the gauge displays/counts in full travel
    Last but not least cost

My question is since the purpose of a jackplate is to adjust the height of the motor why is it you can’t find any information on the total vertical travel of most major brands?

Bob’s: Faster, stiffer at the top of travel, less movement and “wiggle” in the slide after a few years of use. And some of the best customer service in the marine industry.

I currently have n Atlas on my Ranger. It's slow in my opinion compared to a Bob's. Plus I do not like the gague that comes with the Atlas. I had a Bob's on all my Ranger's & my Triton, so one could say I a little bias! Good Luck with whatever brand you decide to go with.

Just ordered an 8" action jack black powder coated with splash pan and lift gauge today. Had one on another boat and loved it.

Thanks for all the replies. Bob's is the jackplate I had heard was best and you guys confirmed that. Any of you guys with a 21' Skeeter know which size of plate I should be installing? I have a 2015 FXi 21.

Four boats, four Bob's. Like the new style with the pump in the jack plate. Install was straight forward.

Don’t know much about these but I like the ProTap programmable presets and the analog gauge

The price point isn’t that bad either

I think I would still go with a Bob’s just wish they would use an analog gauge

Seastar (Detwiler) is what you will find on almost every Stroker. Not many jackplates can put up with the 16+ inches of setback, 100mph+ speeds and not have any structural issues over extended times.

I've ran both in 8 and 10 inch, though the Atlas is a great plate, I prefer the Bob's Action Jack
