Yes, that is pretty much how I did it. The rubber gasket acts as the mount.

Type this into an Ama#on search and it will get you to what I needed for mine.

I have a 2006 198. One of my rear lights went out and I was able to wrestle it free of the rubber gasket and order a whole new housing unit- good to go since then!

So, I also have a 2006 198 dual console. I checked Westland and they only went up to 2004 on the year. I have to imagine a 2004 and 2006 dual console 198 have all the same contours- right?

Since I will soon be going through the same process what were some snags you ran into that you had to adjust around? (I am thinking maybe engine height and rigging??)
