I'm here. haha...
I'm doing well.
Hope you are also also doing well.
I thought 2000 was newer also.
Yeah, that was my other thought. The price of coil packs and everything.
The only thing I am kicking myself over is that when I replaced the steering 8 years ago, I went with dual cable again. I...
I'd really like to do that, but It needs a new block, so it's a lot of money to throw at the engine.
It threw a rod and put two holes in the block.
Total rebuild, and then I have 24 year old...
Thank you for the information.
I'm looking to re-power with a mercury 4 stroke. Not that I am wild about 4 strokes or anything, but I've been scouring facebook/craigslist and the used market is...
Thank you, and sorry about that.
This motor is toast, so I didn't want to waste the time of people, so that is why I left it off.
It did add the serial number to be in compliance because I really...
Year 2000 Mercury 200 EFI
Serial NO: OT145601
I always seem to read that Mercury's standard hub size around year 2000 was 4.75 inch.
My 200 EFI from year 2000 seems to have a 4.25 inch. Is that...
Hey Lea,
Happy belated birthday!!
So I found a local place selling 200hp Mercury outboards. 2021 models brand new.
They say that a mercury dealer has to install it to activate the warranty. That's fine.
I called the shop that...
Speaking of prices. Used outboards seem to be like gold, in Wisconsin. For example, I'm seeing 1992 200HP XRi's listed for $4-5k.
Then I see where people asked about XRi's back in 2010 on BBCboards...
Thanks
200hp 4-Stroke (Non Pro XS) VS 175 Pro XS
If one is looking at the 200hp 4-Stroke, would there be any advantage to dropping down to 175, and getting Pro XS?
I was just curious because the 175 Pro...
Thank you for this information.
I decided that I am going to repower my boat. It seems like I missed their two extra years of warranty promotion. I guess I will just wait for the next promotion....
Yeah.. I kind of figure so.. Tossing Ideas around because to re-power with a brand new 200HP, I'm looking at paying twice as much as what I paid for the whole boat.
Granted that was back in 2010. ...
How do you think this boat would perform with a 150hp Pro XS?
I normally would not want to step down that much, but figured I would ask.
Glad to hear you are doing well..
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Yep, that is what I was looking at.. The 200L
Can we move this to the 4-stroke forum. Sorry I posted in the wrong forum.
A dude in the Mercury forum said that the Champion's 202 can't handle the extra weight back there, and you will be having water on your back deck all the time. I don't know.
...
I am contemplating having my 2000 Champion 190SX repowered.
Was running up the Mississippi and my 2000 year Mercury 200HP EFI broke down. It left two holes in each side of the top of the...
I actually saw that.. Seemed like the seller fell off the face of the earth as soon as people started asking questions. Probably busy.
Thank you for reminding me.. :thumb up2:
I think I will...
The price seems to climb. I was quoted around 22,500 for a new motor. 2,000 for hydraulic steering.
Then also need to upgrade some of the gauges like tilt.
And then labor.
I'm looking at close...
Well, it looks like the Optimax weights more than the EFI. Comparable to the Mercury 4 strokes, or even more.
So I think weight should not be a problem.
I'm still all ears.
