It did. I didn’t know this until I kept on the gas after the alarm started sounding (to see if it was overheat or fuel restriction). Normally I would shut down right away once the alarm sounded.

The horn was, in fact, an overheat alarm. A faulty temp sensor/switch was to blame. We are back in business.
Thanks
Thank you. When I heard the alarm, I looked at the sticker by the shifter and it said "overheat alarm" I wasn't aware there was another option. I will look into a fuel restriction.
I believe...

I'm getting an overheat alarm over 4000 RPMs. I do not get the alarm at lower RPMs. I have 10lbs of pressure at idle, and 25+ above 3000 RPMs. Motor pees stronger than...
Transom and motor would be my biggest concerns with a 95. Check them over. I would guess low 60s with the 150.
As always, thank you ChampioNman! Powerhead is back on and I can go fishing tomorrow. And hopefully I won’t ever have to take it off again!
Thank you! So the “1” bolts can stay? I added the pic to my original post.

I am pulling my powerhead (first time ever doing so) to change a leaky gasket and my service manual mentions 2 “horizontal” bolts up front that must be removed. The...
Thank you, guys. Yes, I have a manual...I will check the eye and refer to the manual for how to check my stator. If I end up needing a stator, is there anything else I need to change at the same...
Thank you! I tightened up that fitting last night and put some thread dope on it, so it "should" be OK. I noticed that the same fitting had some sort of check valve in it where the fuel line clamps...
That's what I keep thinking, but I can't find anything. No alarms. I have good flow thru my lines from the top of the fuel tank to the fuel filter on the motor. At least, I was able to physically...

I took the boat out this morning...it ran fine up to 4500 rpm. But just before 5000, it started to hesitate, or hiccup, at random intervals where I and lose power for a split...

Is there a way to test the engine temp sensor? My motor is hard to start and keep running when it's cold, but starts and runs fine once it's warmed up. Makes me think the...
I'd love to see the Falcons win just for the sake of seeing a team in the SB that hasn't been there in a while (ever?) That is, as long as my Steelers are there and win!!!!
Thanks! I will look at it tomorrow. The boat and trailer are still at the lake.
It finally happened to me. I burned up my bearings and damaged the spindle on my 93 EZ Loader trailer on the way to the lake today. It's a single axle trailer made for an 18'9" Hydra Sport...
I just went through this exact same thing... There are 4 bolts holding the two halves of the pan together - 2 in front and 2 in the back. Starboard side. Once the bolts are removed, you can turn...
Now that's more like it!! Thanks a million!
Ive been looking online for the gasket I need, but am not having any luck finding it. Between the lower unit and the powerhead is a spacer? plate....the gasket I need is the one that is between this...
Does the 45 pull around well enough for you? I don't think a 55 will make much of a diff compared to the 45, so if you weren't happy with the power of the 45, I would jump up to 24volts. But it the...
Just replaced my WalMart batteries after 8 years. I think the ones I just bought were even cheaper than the ones I replaced. Take care of them, and they will last!
Thanks a million, ChampionMan! I really appreciate the help you and others offer here! It means a lot to me! If I have any questions once I get to replacing this gasket, I will be sure to ask. ...
Sure enough...it's peeing from the upper gasket. Someone said it was not too diff to replace this gasket - I've never taken a power head off, but looking at it, it looks pretty straightforward as...
Dang it! You beat me to it. I finally saw the 4th bolt and came inside to delete my previous post and save some face. Oh well. Thanks!
OK...I'm struggling a little with the pan and want to be sure I don't break it. I removed the 3 bolts that cinch the pan together (one in front, 1 in back), but it is still not wanting to come...
