I replaced mine with the max rules one and it even came with its own bracket that uses the same holes as the VRO, have to trim it a bit but works very good

your VRO gets the oil and fuel and mixes them do you premix? or do you have a separate oil reservoir?....if you do not have an oil reservoir then you have to pre mix...in which case these pumps can...

Jerry, I was thinking the same...but since in one of the post above this you advised to check the quickstart function...I followed the service manual for the test...over there it asks to disconnect...
although I started it today...engaged in forward idling, left it running...went inside the house...came back around 30 minutes later...still running....the sea is calling upon me....ayeeee....

Thanks Jerry...yes I followed that process for first detent....attached here are some pics related to your questions, there is a little gap on the timing arm roller but the throttle roller does not...
Moving the control forward till first detent...then into neutral...verified the propeller is free...shift lever is in parallel with engine seam....adjusted the trunnion, installed the cable, now...
first hit on the forehead and made me follow the manual step by step.....:laugh:...finished with the throttle sync...installed the throttle cable...went to next step...installing the shift...

will go over everything today....little by little...although my manual does not says to loosen the roller for the cable to be installed....maybe I do...
