I did a little over 600 miles ( gatlinburg, tn to orlando) and that was enough for me and the wife. ( she had no choice she was on the rear seat :laugh: )
I also have a bad back.. fx of the L1 vert, I have a 04 Electra Glide with a drivers back rest and a Mustang seat. I have no complaints with my back. The newer ones may be a little more comfortable...
For me most of the time under 15 mph its front only anything more than that it's both. Exception when on sand or gravel, then it's rear only.
