Im jus trying to figure out if its worth buying a mega unit jus to use it a 2d unit only

Does mega have anything to do with the 2d sonar or does it run off chirp? Out of a mega and non mega unit, which has the best detail in 2d sonar?

Can the solix si and helix si both run off the same transducer?
