sounds like tranny is slipping, could be as simple as low fluid level
i drilled the holes larger and used a bigger bolt and new nylon washers, fixed it right up

i just installed a BOSS audio system with 2 speakers for when we go tubing, it sounds just fine and only $80, but for fishing i try to keep it quiet
those are thru hull transducers, ive always heard just to leave em be, im sure some other guys will chime in about them as well
you can drill and tap it, go easy on the tap and remember that the threads arent going to be really strong, but a little silicone should do the trick, and be sure to go slow with the tap
i just use a plano spinnerbait box, will be adding a Cooks go to system though

ive got the DI helix, for the price its awsome, just recently got the navionics hotmaps premium for it and its even better
i use an iHome waterproof speaker, but only use it sometimes, and no worries if it starts raining
15lb power pro on spinning gear, 50lb powerpro for deep cover and berkley vanish 12lb clear for the rest
post pic of the bulb if you can, would be easier to identify
mine does the same thing, always thought surge brakes only operated one way, i wouldnt worry about it unless its actually damaging the trailer

hot soapy water, a good hit with compressed air and re-lube, works pretty darn good and wont hurt the finish

never have a problem, even on dirt boat ramps with my 4wd
