I reckon if the bracket was solid enough and didn't vibrate too much it would probably work on pad. I would worry about tearing it off but I guess that depends on your lakes and or style of fishing. ...

It won’t read on pad while mounted to the jackplate. It’s gotta be in the water my friend. Plenty of YouTube install videos.

I just removed an Lss-1 and replaced it with a total scan today. I also had to move it to the stern side. I’m pretty sure they are supposed to about 12” right/left of center. Rather than paying $30...

It was more the map sharing between the units than the sonar. I wasn't sure if it would require the units to share a single transducer while linked or if you could still have them linked for mapping...
