This is off an 06 Zx250 but fits a few years and models

Yea it seems like every time you manage your waypoints and reinstall them on one unit it sees it as a new set of points and adds them to the other units and AC giving you doubles and so on

I agree Active Captain can be a pain and like you I do all my updates via an SD card
And you’re not wrong about Garmin’s NMEA displays they could use some upgrades
