Has any water patrol officer or coast guard official told any of you that the registration numbers need to be above the rub rail because the angle below causes them to be not clearly visible?

The Gill FG2 looks very similar to the Hydronaught, especially the hood design. Wonder if they are made by the same company.

Thanks for the discussion everyone! I haven't been on the water to test if tightening the drain plug beyond hand tight will solve the problem. But I feel fairly confident that it will.

Thanks for the responses! I did try putting the plug-in and cranking it with a pliers just a little bit past hand tight. Put some silicone around the outside of the plug and let it sit 24 hours....
