Yesir,
Thank you for the insight .
I checked the compression on the engine and they were all between I think 112-115 psi
Maybe something electrical tho I guess.
Maybe I could run her wide...
The hole shot is pretty bad in my opinion. Feels like I'm running a 23 or 24 pitch prop or something, and if I'm loaded with a co angler the hole shot is terrible!
Absolutely aweful.
Takes forever...
I forgot to add I have a 10 inch setback jack plate as well.
With a 21 pitch prop I just figured my rpm should atleast be close to 5400.
To be honest.. with the history of poor performance on...

I was thinking that would be my next step.

Hey guys.

The engine was recently rebuilt and is now flooding on the port side.

I'm looking for an answer that fixes my dern engine.
Go to other forums and you will be able to copy and paste a whole truck load of posts I've made...
Well I'll ask again please good sir.
Why is it limiting rpm at 5400?
What could be the issue ?
Ok
Why is it limiting rpm at 5400?
Im just grabbing at straws here.
No idea what's wrong with this engine.
I've had a couple mechanics look at it and no one can figure it out.
But something has to be going on
My words ?
My words were it "sounded" like it hit a rev limiter.
You yourself are a mechanic and may have heard different.
What I heard did sound like it.
But hell for all I know it was...
The gauge is right.
I have tried that.
I have also got a friend that hooked up his M.E.D.S. to it and we ran it.
It was 5380 rpm by that.
It didn't show any faults.
Forgot to add that to...
So as long as TPS % reaches 100% I'm good?
Just ran it with a 21 tempest.
Waaayyy better hole shot
5400 rpm wot
It wasn't completely out of the water.
The prop was kicking a rooster tail 30ft high.
Like didn't just get the prop a foot away from touching water and goose it.
Too scared to do that.
...
Under norm circumstances no way I would ever dream of doing that.
Reving up without a load any at all is completely stupid.
But what I did is eliminated the chances of it being a prop issue.
...
Ouch isn't the word chief
