mine is mounted right above the live well switches, you will need to run wires for +12 volts to the battery, you could use the terminals @ the fuse box, but i prefer
direct attach to battery.

I've got a 250 v-rod on my 911, it will run @ 72 mph... extra 135 for motor, i just kick the 200 lb back seater out of the boat....
i put mine under the fuse panel, under the passenger console. put the ipod holder in the glove box, on my 911

+1 on the pvs plugs, i have a 25 fury on my vrod 250, NO pvs plugs..

what is the configuration of your pvs plugs? they allow the prop to vent at hole shot, when you mash the throttle you should get 3500 or so RPM..
it RPM is low, more venting required, if RPM...

Squirrel, i have the 250 verado on my 911, it will run in the low 70's, using fury 25, also have run tempest 26, the fury has a way better hole shot.

i put mine in the passenger (back deck) storage, removed the plastic tub, and mounted it to divider in front of the gas tank.
can not see it, easy access.
I mounted mine to the windshield, with sticky back, also have a stick back on my ski helmet.. works great

i don't look @ my trim gauge either, trimmed out correctly, rooster tail should be about the height of the cowling on your motor.

the V-Rod will push that tub @ 72ish.. chines a little @ about 68..

i disconnect everything before backing down the ramp, slowly enter the water, as soon as the boat starts to float, i get out, run down the dock and jump in. have not used a rope in many years... ...

mine is not a z9, but is center consoled, as stated above, very stable, lots of storage, and mine will run @ low 70's with a 250.. i can not think of any major detractors.
