I'm working on a 115 S/N 5725708. It has the trim cylinders beside the transom bracket and the trim pump it remotely mounted in boat. Just wondering what trim fluid is recommended.

Just curious because I know nothing about the merc 4 strokes but without a bulb if the user runs boat out of gas will the fuel pump reprime the engine after refilling tank?

There's also a metal cased fuel filter between the vst and high pressure pump that could be checked.

I'm not saying it's not bad but if it wasn't putting out enough pressure I can't figure how it would put oil and fuel in the water. I have seen them put out to much pressure especially on the 2.6L...

I would also check the filter baskets on inlet side of pump.

Also flagship Marine used to rebuild them. Not sure if they still do

For the price of that pump I would recommend getting it hooked to a computer and look at high pressure reading
