Some reels don't fit some reelseats properly (loose). I put a little piece of heat shrink tube on my Scorpion's reelseats. Problem solved.

I bought the boat used & it also had a flasher on the front.
I bent a piece of .090 aluminum around a 4" piece of round stock at the middle, then bent the straight sides down & slotted it for the hose clamp. It has saved my transducer many times on the rocks....
That's what I use too, but I do believe it strips the wax right off.
