Sounds like the SE module has gone bad, but it could be water in the motor or wires shorted out.

JUST my opinion, I wouldn't trade my old tour for two of the new tours.

Sounds like a dead spot on the armature .
I have used a wash tub filled with water and put the motor in it, you'll see air bubbles coming from where it is leaking.

With the power off can you turn the prop by hand .

If you have a 36 volt with 100 lb. thrust, how much thrust would you have if you ran it on 24 volts ?
You need 84 897345T47 ( long cable ) and 84 897345T48 ( short cable ). Hope this helps. Give Jones Trolling Motors a call he should be able to help you.
Look on the bottom of the foot petal and check for a number, should be something like MXC300542. I can tell you which set of cables you need with the number.
Sounds like you need to change the armature, probably cost around $200
The module is in the motor, the shaft of the armature runs through it.
Sounds like se module has gone bad.
Need the number that is on the bottom of the foot control petal to get the right length, I recommend you change both cables.
SE module may be shot
I would see if I could turn the prop by hand while it is NOT connected to the batteries .
