Okay,thanks
I just replaced the trim mitor on my 1990 Johnson GT200 Friday.
I took it to the lake today and the trim motor works great but I noticed something and it does not seem right. When the motor is...
Hey everybody thanks for the help, I just got done fixing the trim / tilt. I ordered a new motor and as soon as I tested it before installing, it worked. So my diagnostics were good.
Replacing...
I found some instructions but one of the steps says to match mark the angle of the adjusting rod before removing. What is the adjusting rod?
disregard I found it
Ok thanks I'm going to try to fix it this week, I'll wait until the pump comes in. How many bolts are in the bottom? I see two on each side but I can't tell if they are all for holding the entire...
I guess I should ask before I dive deeper into this. Does it sound like the trim motor?
So i went so I went outside again and manually lifted the motor and snapped a picture. This time it looks like I have just enough room to tap that pin out. Is that correct? Is this the pin that needs...
That sounds confusing to me, I can pull the motor up to about an inch of where it needs to tap that center pin out. I'm going to have to take a picture to make sure I can show what I'm looking at.
And to be clear, when I lift the outboard up manually I can only go so far and feels like a hard stop. Problem is the top pin holding the center trim piston to the engine bracket is not accessible....
I have a 1990 Johnson GT 200
model # J200STLESE
Today on the lake I trimmed all the way down to get on plane and when I tried to trim up the motor, it would not move. I idled back to ramp and...
Ok thanks I'll check it
Does this sound like what would happen if the throttle roller/cam is out of adjustment?
It starts great and I always prime / pump fuel bulb. It's just seemed to loose that little extra power it has to get on plane. It took longer to get on plane and felt like the bow was higher while it...
Yesterday I took a trip to Santee Cooper from the Lake Wylie area. We got there at safelight and had some issues getting on plane. The gas tank was full and had three people on the 20" Gambler. This...
My fault for not posting my model #. I realize I ask a bunch of questions, but I'm trying to learn. I can proudly say that I successfully replaced my water pump with the help of this website.
So...
1990 Johnson 200 GT. J200STLESE. The outboard lives inside an Evinrude FICT cowling if that's makes a difference on the tell tale tip I would need
My Johnson 200 has a new water impeller and it works geeat, but it does raise another question. Does the outboard need a tip at the end of the tell tale to create backpresure in the system? Mine does...
Great news thanks
Im not sure on your question but I can tell you this. I took the new failing t stat and the old working t stat. I removed them from the plastic casing and put them in hot water in a pot. I applied...
On the 90 Johnson 200
after installing the new pump kit, I started it on muffs and noticed a little bit of water seeping out between the lower unit and midsection. Where the two mate together and...
But after I did the pump kit and started it, the tell tale was about the same. No big deal. But one of the heads was hot, the same head I just replaced the thermostat in April. I realized this was...
I got it done today. And it was easy and hard. Some observations
1) I didn't have an o ring on the shaft just below the spline so I left it alone and did not use one on the replacement.
2) in...
Got it. Thanks
Yes sir, that's exactly what I'm doing. Got a quote today from my local shop, the kit is $74. I realize it's a bit more versus amazon or online but I,prefer to buy it local in the event it has any...
I read the sticky note on replacing the watermpump and I have a question. I read that you put the outboard in reverse before disconnecting the linkage under the powerhead. After replacing the water...
