30 gauge is not even close. That's nearly microscopic. I wouldn't run anything smaller than a 4 gauge wire... probably aiming for 2 gauge just because bigger is better and a bit better, right? ...

The steering wheel is easy to swap. One nut in the center and the wheel comes off just like any other wheel. There is a Woodrift key so be careful not to lose it.
