too short for float pins. these were split down the long axis and hollow. about 5/16 long. All other carbs has float pins installed correctly as did the one with the extras.

While rebuilding the carbs on this motor I found 6 small roll pins in the carb bowl. They were in the area of the needle valve.
Figure that one out.

I do not think it is an aftermarket stator. It is P/n 398-832075A 5, a 16 amp red stator from mercury. I have also found out this stator has a module attached as part of the stator assembly....

You are spot on with the air leak problem. While waiting for the intake manifold gaskets to arrive I checked a few other things.
With everything hooked up I cannot get the primer bulb...

Should these carbs have the gaskets under the float valve seat? They were there when I removed the carbs to rebuild them so I installed them on the rebuild.
