Gull lake should be good and isn’t too far from Kalamazoo. Upper 60s to low 70s daytime temps are realistic and there should be bass in all 3 stages.

I agree fishing skill will translate but there will be a learning curve for running a boat. The benefit she has is that she has lots of time to flatten that curve.
Agreed, have you ever been to Hardy Dam the first couple weeks of May, it’s one of my favorites for lower Michigan and very scenic? The bonus is there’s a fair amount of state land around with morels.
