For some reason... I just can't do it. I try almost every year and it just never works for me. I started throwing small jerkbaits on a BFS reel.
I love trying different sauces, but I must admit I mostly a dry rub guy. Vinegar mop with dry rub at the end on anything is my favorite.
Back to the topic tough, right now I've been liking...
I will basically watch every game in the next 4 days. It's the best sports weekend of the year.

I've made the transition to full time smallmouth after relocating as well. Couple times a year I have to get my largie fix, but I always end up back on the brown guys.
Just thread wrap a pointed tungsten nail weight onto the bottom side of the hook shank. Finish it with some epoxy and you're good to go.

I had a fall day where I caught 6-8 really nice ones (Michigan nice ones) on a frog in an absolute blizzard. They were in a foot of water. Don't remember what the water temp was, but it wasn't warm.
