Yes, but you don't have to do that anymore with the 2.3 release. Just put it in Standby and it automatically turns off pinging. You do see the "Local Transducer Enabled" message when you wake it up...
You have to be at release 2.0 before upgrading to 2.3, from what I read.
Gotcha'. I just went out and played with it some more. I still see the hesitation or jerkiness with the cursor active. It seems like it's easy to reproduce, too. If you zoom with the ring, let off it...
Not sure what you mean by the "till the cursor is active"? Please explain. Thanks.
I watched your video and how well the zoom ring works on your unit and I was asking myself "What the heck?" Mine isn't nearly that responsive with the new 2.31 upate, or at least not consistently so....
The clustering is the default with the new update, at least it was on mine. I assume you could turn it off, but I didn't look. Seems like a nice feature, and as you say, it's suppose to speed things...
Had my updated unit on the water yesterday. New features are nice to have, for sure. The Standby is finally useful now that it shuts of the pinging! I used the cursor wheel for zooming the map in and...
I installed both the update and the patch. Some nice features in there. I like the waypoint clustering, transducer shutting off in Standby mode and easier map zooming with the cursor wheel. I do wish...
Just timed mine. 1 minute, 25 seconds. Then I timed one of my "core" units, a 997. About 10 seconds to the first screen. That's quite a difference. Over 8 times quicker. Hard to imagine why such a...
It takes forever! For sure a big weak point on my Onix. If you just put it standby, it only turns the screen (mostly) off. The transducer is still pinging, so I get interference on the front unit....
