I dont own the 853 but i have the 893 and it balances well. The new glx 853 is best balanced rod i own
The 895 nrx is very tip heavy. the 894 is much better balanced imo.
Seen on shimanos Web page there set to release a chronarch mgl today. Wonder how this will compare to the metanium mgl in terms of price!!!
I have dobyns champion series rods yes they balance extremely well and have held up to my abuse.....but they don't hold a stick to my Nrx rods for bottom contact. I recently picked up new glx rods...
Are they worth the $$?
There is no where as many tackle booths but what vendors that do come often have the best prices you will find. I go mainly for rods and something to do these days
