MK sent me a survey last week about my experiences an Ultrex, what features are important to me, etc. A couple of the questions made it sound like they are considering something with just spot lock. ...
I did it for a couple of months. Even with the braced brackets there is a lot flex, like boat siting in the drive way with a 30 mph wind you can watch the top of the talon vibrate.
You will also...
I'm not a MLF hater. I like it quite a bit. My problem with the MLF world championship, and possibly the Redcrest, is that it is possible for them to have a group of anglers I don't really care about...
I thought I had mine set to -2 but it was set at 0 for at least 18 months and worked great with my 519.
I switched it to -2 a couple weeks ago and it seems like it's "freaking out" more...
I got my blades from KandK. I don't think you can beat their price and on top of that they are on here daily answering questions.
I recently switched from gen 2 10 foot talons to the new version of 8 foot blades. My Talons were 5 years old and had been used (and abused) a lot. I had the red housing replaced twice because of the...
Do you happen to have a link for them. I tried searching for hdpe in a 10 foot length (my fenders are 9 feet long) the cost to buy was around $400 and it needed to ship freight which sometimes means...
Not sure if I'm going to pull the whole fender off or float the boat and do it in the parking lot. Can either way be done solo or will I need a helper with a dual axle trailer?
If I float the...
Yes. I used the gen 1 tilt bracket with a gen 2 crutch assembly for years with gen 2 10 foot talons.
Scott this is a link to the assembly that I think you will need. https://www.fish307.com/minn-kota-trolling-motor-part-crutch-pivot-asm-tilt-bracket-2992345/
And here is a link to the parts...
I know! I've snapped a few but the lighting hasn't been very good in any of them. I'm still 100% happy I switched to Power Poles.
Maybe. The actual metal bracket is the same but the crutch is different between the gen 1 and gen 2 tilt brackets. That’s the arm that swivels out. If I remember right I think the crutch was too...
This isn't a complete answer but I'll share what I did last year. The biggest problem I think you will have is I think the compartment lids are white and not colored like our boats. In the sea deck...
I actually didn't pay a lot of attention to the fish (how long the jaw was or teeth) other than it fought really hard for a 3 lbs fish.
I only took the picture to send it to my dad to rub it in...
Is this a spotted bass or just a large mouth?

A non link remote will not pair with a link Ultrex. I didn't try going the other way so I'm not sure if a link remote will work with a non link.
I think this is the 2nd year with the Gen 3 talons. If yours has a work light on top it's a gen 3. If no light and you have a 10 or a 12 they gen 2 with no BT.
Mine always had a slight angle to them and they still worked great.
Probably not. One of the benefits of the JP mount is that you can run the bracket as high as possible so less of the bracket drags in the water during take off. Depending on JP size you might be...
After running Talons for the last 5 years I decided to switch to Power Poles. After getting an Ultrex in late 2016 I found myself using my Talons less and less. I actually spot lock a lot in 5-6...
Mine did this once when they had dried mud in them. If you take them out of the bracket and let them sit in a 5 gallon bucket full of water for a few minutes it will soften the mud and allow them to...
Kevin and I butted heads hard a few years ago over Talons. He was the first and only person I contacted when I made up my mind to change because he is on here every day helping people with PP...
I put 2 10 foot talons on my 2013 ZZ with a 150 Pro XS and the boat seemed to handle the added weight fine other than my holeshot. I had to reprop to get the hole shot back.
Keep in mind that...
Well one motor manufacturer, Yamaha, makes their own motor support for trailering and it doesn't go to the trailer. https://yamahaoutboards.com/en-us/home/owner-resources/all/faq#0 check out the last...
