Running a 28p Trophy running 78 - 79 on a Gambler 209TE with 225HO G2. Had to down size jack plate from old Johnson so I think setup can still be little better, but I'd rather be fishing.

I have a 209, 10" jack plate, Johnson 225 and it is just over 29 feet motor down. Not a swing away tongue.

I had the same problem a few years ago, it turned to be wire from power pack shorting out.
