Yes, it definitely mattered.
I agree it was more fun to see a variety of techniques used but it is what it is. The top guys need to get with it or find another job. It’s not going away and it’s only going to get better. I...
Boom. Get better with it or hang it up.
Ran the boat yesterday with the Quantum and it runs great. Time will tell how long this pump lasts.
I must say that the price Yamaha is now charging for parts is just ridiculous. The way things...
I used to use Devcon 2-ton epoxy as a clear and would put finished baits on a turner to level the epoxy as it dried. Nothing thicker than that for a top coat. I still had leakers. Baits painted in...
I scuff and prime white or grey.
I spray basically outside with a fan at my back with a respirator on, or get a sealed fan for spraying. They make them. Yes I believe it is flammable. I just never liked the idea of dipping baits...
Spray your clear and it will not be an issue. That is what I do. I have been using the KBS thinner and the same brush I use to paint. Follow the safety instructions for spraying KBS. It's nasty...
This what I use also from a post you made years ago. Best material by far in my opinion for tying jigs.
I like the wiggle wart and rock crawler knockoff blanks from Predator Bass Baits Predator Bass Baits - Lures, Lures, Fishing (unpaintedcrankbaits.com) They are good blanks and catch fish.

I have a 1998 trailer with oil baths. I have original bearings in 3 of the 4 hubs. The ones hub I changed didn’t need new but I was having trouble with that one cap coming loose and thought a new...
I’m an expert at lift pumps. Hate those things. Going to switch over to the electric option soon.
I believe the new 250ss is 100 pounds heavier than my current Yamaha 225 vmax 2 stroke. Wonder what that would do to my 1999 492vs? That is really my only concern with buying a new Suzuki 250ss four...
Two in twenty years. Always have a spare on board.
I ended up going with a Quantum. They got decent reviews. Got two for $146. The second will be a back-up. We will see.
Any updates on these pumps. Need one now. Left me stranded yesterday.
700 hours each on the OEM Yamaha pumps but now over $700. Wow!
It looks pretty corroded to me but I have no experience with saltwater blocks. You might consider a remanufactured block from Crowley Marine Yamaha Outboard Powerheads for Sale: Remanufactered |...
I would definitely be looking at changing the head gasket if you have water on the plugs and a clean cylinder. Head gasket failure with age is pretty common on this engine.
Fitzgerald Bryan Thrift skipping rod. I have two. The original is 6’9”. The now have a 7’ same action. Good warranty.
That is the issue, "very few good marine techs out there".

I will second the lift pumps are an issue. I end up changing them at least once a year. Going to go with the electric pump option as I am sick of dealing with them. I always use the Sierra rebuild...
I bought a new 20 foot Bumble Bee in 2001-2003 (don't remember year exactly) for 25K out the door. 225 Yamaha Ox66, prop, motorguide trolling motor, dual axle trailer, spare, padded front deck,...
If you aren’t panning around with live imaging you are missing a lot. I’d be interested to know why he has this like this.
Apparently the first guy set a trend although these guys don’t look drunk. They may have to add a top. I’d say some jail time might be needed.
