I did notice the a chrysler looking star on the caliper, no mention of chrysler specifically though. Do you have a part# from ranger?
Ranger wanted $450 per assembly, no bearings included. Wouldn't give me the part # either over the phone so I can't look for myself... bastards
Trying to find info on, and hunt down new Hub / Disc brake assembly's for my 1996 Ranger Trail trailer. I cannot for the life of me find the part # and have sat for hours in different part stores...
I'm dropping the boat off next week to get the motor looked at, and I mentioned the water thing and he said he will take a look and see if he notices anything more than what I asked here. Appreciate...
Super informative response, I appreciate that! I am a new owner of this boat, as well as new to boating in general so I'm still learning about these things. I did notice that there was some "gunk" in...
This still doesnt answer my question of why the bilge pump wasnt spitting this water out? Also the drain has been slowly dripping overnight and is still going. Is this normal?
Aren't resistor and noise suppression plugs the same thing? Not trying to argue, just making sure you didn't mean to differentiate the 2 brands differently. As far as i know, resistor plugs=noise...
Where the heck would i find these? Should i just measure the hole and try to find any old rubber plug?
Today on the lake I ran the bilge a few times and noticed quite a bit of water, solid stream for about 30-40 sec. When I got home and took the plug out it ran strong for about 4 min before turning...
Noted, I will order the champion oem plugs and change em out after i do a decarb probably next week. Something strange happened today that Im not sure of the cause. So i fired the boat up on muffs...
Wasn't aware you arent supposed to. Lots of guys i know run NGK plugs in all their stuff now. They are a direct replacement for the champions, so why would it be an issue?
I just changed the plugs before i started it up. Should i throw the old ones in there to run it all out of the system tomorrow, then put the new ones in before my next trip out?
Hey thanks for that tip!
I put some stabilizer at the end of November when I winterized it. It’s been sitting over 6 months though so should I add anything else to the fuel before I take it out on the water tomorrow? Or just...
After changing my water pump last week and getting spark plugs in today, I hooked up the muffs and tried to fire her up for the first time this season.
Lots of smoke (as expected from sitting...
Appreciate this! thank you!
Thanks for all these suggestions! I think ill order the expanding rivets to see if those work first. I dont think there's any way for me to access behind the live wells and stuff, so this has to be a...
I am a little new to working on outboards myself, and after changing out my water pump I looked at the torque specs for the lower unit bolts and this is whats in the manual:
5. Apply OMC Gasket...
I have seen many posts about this, but can't seem to get a good fix for my hatches and looking for some ideas.
The hinges on all my hatches have pulled out from the boat side, but are still fine...
Just an update now that I'm working on the boat after getting it out of storage.
It was the SeaStar steering shaft seal behind the steering wheel. Easy fix!
Wow thats pretty neat, i like how theres no modification to the dash needed. Will have to look into that!
Yea I have gotten some advice on cold starting it with the choke, its a pain because its the kind where you press in on the key as you turn over the ignition. The play in the shifter really does...
Thanks I was unaware of this kind of monitor. Sounds like a good fix!
My speedometer on my 96 ranger as well as the depth finder are shot.
I was thinking of replacing these both with a fish finder that has gps speed. My question is, is it technically illegal to...
