Why do you think a jerkbait over a jig head minnow?

My biggest issue with throwing a jerkbait watching FFS is the bait is never at the correct depth and its a lot easier to change depth on a jig head.

I didn't notice but did notice his aggressive hook sets. Surprised he was using 16lb fluro, would have thought it was 6-8lb fluro.
