Yep same thing on mine
how much positive trim? My boat lift is very shallow so my motor usually sits at 75-90 degrees. 250 hours no smoke on startup or plug fouling so it must be ok?
I’ve had one for 2 years and have 200 hours on it. Replaced an alternator and a couple of bulletins but I’d buy another without even thinking about it. They’re the real deal
Smb are hated by most up north! Invasive species-take some home with you lol
Had same issue with mine. I made up a wire harness with a 40k ohm resistor in-line with the trim sensor output wire and got all the trim I was missing
I finally got time to retrieve my boat tonight and found a blown pcm fuse. Alternator gets replaced tomorrow and should be back to normal.
Update
New alternator did fix all the issues
I have the gateway hooked to a garmin and it’s awesome all the data you can get live on screen
I did see 16 volts on the smart craft today
Alternator failed today. 4602-23 fault code. Made it back with the kicker motor.
I am am waiting for an alternator for my 200v8 proxs. Mine started undercharging last week. Showing 11.3volts on the smartcraft during a long run down the lake. I’ve used it a few times since then...
Yes it will display fuel used. If you wire the gps to the Smartcraft it will give you miles per gallon. I picked up a nmea2k gateway and plugged that into my garmin and get more data than the...
My 200 v8 doesn’t make oil. It gets run hard tho and very little trolling with it
Looks like 3 beeps can mean low voltage. I was out with my boat which has the same motor as you over the weekend and noticed my voltage all over the place. After a 20 minute run I had 11.2 volts. The...
I like to set it up at the top of the rpm range (6200) when the boat has 1/4 tank of gas and just the driver.
If the block and everything in the block are the same part numbers i wonder if mercury may have 2 longblock part numbers for the same pieces to be able to charge more for the bigger motor.
I did go and check the part numbers for the block, crank, rods, pistons, etc for 200-250-300 pro xs and found them to be all the same. This was on Mercury’s website. What am I missing?
200 v8 can get flashed to 245. Change the throttle body and it can go to 325hp. The 250 or 300 can go to 325
Bravo 1 LT 19p
8M0142656
8M0142655
these are the part numbers for 225pro xs pcm from mercury’s Website
Part the old motor out on eBay.
Check the prop for damage?
Local dealer had issues with one and it turned out one of the wires in the plug for the alternator wasn’t pushed all the way in. Something to look at
Too much pitch and probably the motor is too low. The gear ratio may be different from the old motor. I’d try a 20p on it
Exact inch of pitch is approximately 200rpm. A 4-blade usually needs to be run higher. Each 3/4” is 100-150rpm. In my opinion you need to go to a 17 or 18 pitch 4-blade to get the rpms back where...
The 200 v8 pro xs that I have has the 1.25” shaft
