I have a 2009 250 HPDI with a 25 T1 Vmax series prop. A friend has a SHO prop that also says 25 T1. Both are 15 1/8 diameter. Will the SHO prop work on the HPDI, are they the same prop?

There is what I would call a shift interrupter switch located at the front of the motor under the air diffuser that could cause similar problems. There are YouTube videos about the issue.

I had a similar problem with a 1995 Evinrude, it turned out to be the optical sensor. Not sure if yours has the same ignition system. Good luck with it.

I just changed the reeds. You will need a manual to get the torque specs for reassembly. As others have mentioned it’s worth checking the low pressure pumps as well.
