I've had one for a few weeks now. Lowrance HDS 12 on bottom and 12" Garmin on top. Mount is solid, original gimble mounts, not so much.

The underside of the lid is aluminum, I just cut the foam out and applied JB Weld to it and the hanger, no problems after a year.
