Just dropped mine off at repair shop in Lenior City TN. Frozen pedal on second trip.
They are no longer sending out units. You are told that you will have to wait for upgraded board.
No, the new design footpedal has not been released it will be 4 to 5 weeks before they start shipping. My trolling motor is only one week old so it is basically brand-new.
I would wait to purchase an Ultrex. I'm sure Minn Kota will fix the problem. It does stink to have no foot pedal for a month though.
Just talked to minn kota. They have a redesigned foot board that will ship in 4-5 weeks. I will have to take my trolling motor to a dealer for repair. In the mean time I was told to use the remote.
Just got my Ultrex, 2 time in the water the foot pedal froze. Very upset this morning as I had planned on fishing today. I have the worse luck with stuff like this.
Just got mine installed. 2 trip out it froze. So disappointed in Minn Kota. You would think spending $2.300 bucks would get you a great trolling motor! Thanks for taking me off the water Minn Kota!
I had an 8ft pole....it would hold in 5.5ft of water at best. 12ft Talon will hold you in 11ft all day. That's why I switched.
I made a tray out of 1" angle. I ran it from one side of the boat to the other. Then i could put the batteries inline across the back to even the weight out. If you would like pics i can send you...
If I go with 4 blade will I need less prop? I was thinking of trying a 22 pitch 3 blade. If I go 4 ble would I need to go smaller?
Took boat out for a test run. Jack plate added 2 miles per hour. I have a 20p prop right now. I'm going to try a 21 and 22 to see if those work better.

It was a very simple process. Total install time took about 45 min.
Jackplate install was a success.
Jac plate install was a success.
I'll let you know. I don't plan on disconnecting any cables. Should be able to unbolt engine and slide it back to allow plate to go in.

There seems to be plenty of cable to make the 6" difference. Not sure what you are referring to.
I ordered a new 6" jack plate from Vance Mfg today. I'll post the results once installed.
Did it help hole shot? Did you lower rpm's?
Boat is rated for a 115 max.
Would a 5.5 inch plate work?
What prop did you use
Would it be worth the money to put a jack plate on my boat. Really looking to improve the hole shot more than the top end speed.
boat is in great condition..has hds 7 and hds 8 with structure scan. any idea what would be a good price? also has new Minn Kota Fortex
motor is 150 Vmax
