The decision to eliminate the networking capability between Onix & Solix with the upgrade that fixed many of the Solix 2D sonar problems was a big mistake. You are not the only one who would upgrade...

It could be that you are losing the gps signal, & the unit is looking for a secondary gps source & cant find one. How have you setup the GPS in the network tab? (Network, Data Sources, gps1, gps2)...

What kind of bracket did you use? Can you post a photo?
