I'll take a few more pictures when I get home tonight, but basically I lined the rod lockers and tackle storage with the angle, riveted in place and then screwed the plywood from underneath.

I put (2) pieces of 1/2" plywood together, fiber glassed the top and sides, and built a frame out of aluminum angle.

Try your local auto upholstery shop, ask them where to buy Volara foam. It's a closed cell foam used in vinyl tops. I used it on my front deck and absolutely love it

By the looks of the clamshell installation, I'm not surprised.
