I had a 97 Gambler for 21 years. Never had any problems but did go through 3 motors. Sold it a couple years ago to buy a 94 Gambler that I liked better.
SOE are the first 3 letters for the VIN on all Gamblers. Post a pic if you can it is pretty easy to tell which model it would be from that.

10" plate works good on those hulls. Just make sure the steering cables are long enough if the boat currently has a shorter plate.
