Does anybody know why they did it like that in the first place. I assume it was to make sure they were not overloading the wires or to make sure that at least one side was working. I have it rigged...

I did call. They said I must be mistakin on the number of wires that come out of the plug. I cannot find one online either. Something Genmar did I guess

unfortunatley that is not it. It actually has 5 pins, but 8 wires coming out of it. 2 white, 2 brown, yellow, green and 2 pinkish colored ones
