I checked the switch as you mentioned and I that was the ticket (I think), as soon as I poked it with a screwdriver blade it fired up the other side of the engine, well I think it did , because the...
I did a search and came up with a schematic I'm looking at for the switch location.
BTW - I noticed you guys put a spark plug chart on here, I wish I would looked at that before, becuase when I...
Thanks Champion man, I will check it out, I'm not sure where that switch would be located, is it part of the outboard or near the shifter at the steering
also my Wife said she noticed some black particles in the fuel when we drained the carbs.
Thanks, I found them, and I drained each one and then pumped the bulb some,
I also changed the plugs @ $55 http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Started her up and she basically did...
What do the drain screws look like?
I wanted to be sure and emphasize that in neutral it runs fairly well.
And this happened last year, but after a couple minutes of revving in neutral, it ran without issue, kind of like I had to...
First time I took the boat out this year, (illnes then I moved) to run the big motor, it started up fairly easy, it smoked really bad, but I think that may have to do with sitting all winter and...
It's the leftover oil / gas in your carbs dripping back out slowly when your o/b is stored, I have stopped this issue with my 98 200 carbed rude by trimming the o/b straight when on the trailer in...
The screws are not exactly the same? Upper and lower, UH OH, maybe that's the problem, I thought about it not on there straight on the threads but, I don't remember it being very hard to get going...
Thanks for the replies, I changed the LU fluid this past weekend, everything seems find, I also ran a magnet through the old fluid and did not pick up any metal, just a little bit of shavings on the...
Hello,
I tried to do a search but it keeps asking me to log-in??
Anyway, can anyone tell me what type of Evinrude LU fluid I should be using, thanks.

No plate for me, but the Ranger 488 VS has a 15" Setback. I will check the height, thanks, did not want to hijack this post but figured it could help both of us. I was thinking of trying a three...
Thanks for the info, that's great news that I have the water seperator, I heard it's a good idea to have them with the new fuel correct? Perhaps they need to be changed? (the filter)?
Thanks
Oh sorry, one more question on this if you don't mind, well actually two.
1) I have not changed the plugs since I got the boat last year, is it time?
2) I was looking at my rude the other day...
Okay I will try that,
I have to admit that I do not use my o/b that much during the season becuase in NJ there are limited bodies of water that allow anything more then using your trolling motor....
If you don't mind may I piggyback your post, I also have a 200 Vindicator and @ 5700 RPms I am @ 60-62 GPS and trimmed to the point that the steering starts to get hard to turn. I have a 4 blade OMC....

Was out the other day @ WOT and all of a sudden I hear a noise like I hit something with the prop or something blew up in the LU. So was sitting at idle after I hard the noise cause I was scared ...
drfish,
Thanks for the reply, maybe a silly question but my other concern is the strenght of the repair, what makes it strong, does the grey gelcoat have anything to with the strenght of the...
I posted this in the General Boat topics but maybe It should be on this board.
This weekend I found a small chip in my Ranger Gelcoat, it is right where the bow touches the bow roller when the...
